Franklin Brentwood Arts Academy — Where Confidence Takes the Stage (Summer Camps, Workshops, Performances, After school programs ...)

As I actively explore the amazing local activity centers for FindMeActivities, I knew I had to stop by the Franklin Brentwood Arts Academy (FBAA). For over two decades, Franklin Brentwood Arts Academy (FBAA) has been one of the most popular and trusted performing arts institutes in Middle Tennessee, and I wanted to see why.

From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by an incredibly warm and professional team at the front desk. I had the chance to speak with their Managing Director, Ms. Tina, and it immediately became clear why their success rate is so high. When operational excellence meets a true passion for quality training, you get a thriving center like this.

Founded in 2003 by Maury and Raquel Kelley, FBAA has grown into Middle Tennessee’s most performance-focused arts academy, serving over 500 students across Franklin, Brentwood, and the greater Nashville area. Families come here for lessons in voice, piano, guitar, drums, violin, and acting, but they stay for something far deeper — the transformation that happens when a child steps on stage and discovers their voice.

I learned that their success is far more deep-rooted. Their teaching journey doesn't end with a semester recital or after a summer camp. They truly hand-hold their talented students to show them what stage presence and professionalism mean. They take them to perform on professional stages, giving them invaluable real-world experience. They even bring in real industry professionals to work directly with students, offering hands-on training and insight into the world of performing arts.

This philosophy of real-world preparation is at the heart of FBAA. Lessons aren't just practice; they're preparation for the stage. Every student has the opportunity to perform throughout the year in on-stage workshops, live showcases, and even at legendary venues like the Ryman Auditorium.

Imagine that—standing on the same historic stage where world-famous artists have performed. It’s one of the many ways FBAA turns lessons into unforgettable confidence-building moments.

From the FBAA Stage to Broadway and Beyond

And this approach gets real results. The academy's brood includes incredible talents.

One of FBAA’s very first students, Ginna Claire Mason, is now a Broadway and television star. After training at FBAA, she went on to perform in nearly 2,000 shows as Glinda in Wicked—both on Broadway and on the national tour. Ginna Claire has also starred in five Hallmark movies, including the recent A Newport Christmas.

“FBAA demanded excellence, and that shaped everything for me,” says Ginna Claire. “It gave me the confidence and professionalism to walk into any audition ready to perform.”

Professional Coaching in a Supportive Environment

These rising stars reflect the same confidence and discipline that FBAA inspires in every student. They do this by ensuring every lesson is personalized, fun, and inspiring. Students work with professional teachers who are active performers in the Nashville area—bringing real-world experience into every class.

Lessons are designed to help students love what they’re learning, choose songs that inspire them, and develop solid technique, all while having fun. Schedule your first lesson today!

My takeaway from FBAA is that it truly feels like a family. From the moment you walk through the doors at 210 Gothic Court in Franklin, you sense the energy, laughter, and encouragement. They aren’t just teaching music and acting—they’re building confident, creative, and courageous young people who are ready to take the stage anywhere in the world.
